FARMVILLE – Bridget Carrington lived to sing another day Thursday night.

The Farmville native and fellow contestant Olivia Chisholm were called out to center stage during last week's Duets, told that they had received the fewest votes from the previous week's performance on ABC and that the one with the least votes was eliminated from the competition.

Chisholm went home and the daughter of Mickie and Perry Carrington, of Farmville, exhaled, hugged Chisholm and knew she had another chance to continue on toward the show's prize of a recording contract.

The 1995 Prince Edward County High School graduate faced a potentially difficult challenge because she was first up to sing live moments later, just after the trial and tribulation of waiting, during seconds that seemed like hours, for the show's host, Quddus, to announce whether Chisholm or Carrington would be silenced.

But Carrington and superstar partner/mentor John Legend brought roars of approval from the audience, and raves from the other celebrity performers, with their rendition of Nat King Cole's “Unforgettable.”

Last week's Duets episode featured classic standards from the music world, while the final three contestants left for this Thursday night's broadcast will perform songs selected by their superstar partners and a nationwide audience vote.

Thursday night's 8 p.m. telecast will begin with Carrington, J Rome, John Glosson and Jason Farol-from the original group of eight contestants-wondering who among them has sung their last in the competition.

Viewers vote each week until 11:59 a.m., Pacific Time, on Friday following each live broadcast but the results aren't known-which one of the remaining contestants goes home and which remain for another week-until the beginning of the following week's broadcast.
