James Lee Tanner, 82

JULY 10 – James Lee Tanner, 82, born in South Carolina, an eight year resident of Farmville and former resident of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, passed away on Saturday, July 7, 2012.

He is survived by his wife of nearly 62 years, Lizzie M. Griffin Tanner; four daughters, Dianne Scutt (George), Bonnie S. Harrison, Sharon L. Eichenlaub (David), and Sherry L. Massaro (Michael); sister, Anne R. Tanner Brady (Troy); ten grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 11, at 11 a.m. at New Life Assembly of God Church in Farmville with interment to follow in Westview Cemetery, Farmville.

Family will receive friends from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Puckett Funeral Home on Tuesday, July 10.

Memorial contributions may be made to The Haitis Hope Ministry, c/o Jonathan Scott, 431 Barbri Lane, Davie, FL 33325. This ministry is in support of an orphanage of children who were victims of the earthquake.
