May 10 – Happy Birthday wishes go out this week to Winnie Brown, of Dillwyn, celebrating on Saturday, May 12; Charles (John Boy) Yates, of Dillwyn, celebrating on Monday, May 14, and Lilly Pearl Norman, of Farmville, and Patsy Miles, of Cumberland, celebrating on Tuesday, May 15.
George and Nicole Dickson and their daughter, all of Cartersville, along with Pete and Annie May Miles of Dillwyn visited in the home of James and Virginia Boyles, in Cumberland on Tuesday, May 15.
Our sympathy is extended to Larry Barone, of Cumberland, in the passing of his brother in Pennsylvania over the weekend.
Rodney and Sandra Ownby, of Dillwyn, along with Rene Marion of Cumberland, met at a Richmond Restaurant on Sunday afternoon, May 6, in honor of Cheyenne Marion's Sweet 16 birthday. Everyone had a nice time.
Belated Happy Birthday wises are sent out to Bud Dunn of Farmville who celebrated his birthday on Sunday, May 6.
Our thoughts and prayers go out this week to those who are sick and shut-in.

Cedar Baptist Church, located just off of U.S. Route 15 North of Dillwyn on State Route 650 (Trents Mill Rd.), host a Men's Promise Keepers Prayer Breakfast Sunday mornings (excluding fifth Sundays) from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m.
Spreading God's Gift Inc. of Buckingham is a non-profit local organization that extends help to individuals and families in the communities in their hour of need. Monthly meetings are held each second Monday at 6:30 p.m. at Browns Chapel United Methodist Church, located off of Route 15 North of Dillwyn on State Route 617 (Gravel Hill Rd.) in Dillwyn.
