Oh what a beautiful rain we are having this Wednesday morning!
The members of the Prospect Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary thanks all those who supported them this past weekend by attending the Spaghetti Supper.
Mrs. Edith Vaughan has returned home following a visit with her daughters, Diane and Debbie in Northern Virginia this past week end.
Mrs. Flora Bolt, Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Bolt, and Stacy enjoyed a cookout hosted by Carleen and Amber Davis on Saturday, April 7. There was delicious food and great fellowship.
On Sunday, April 15, Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Bolt, Stacy Bolt and Chace Davis attended the Citizen Leader Awards Program and luncheon at Longwood University. Stacy was recognized and received one of the campus awards for Outstanding Commuter Student 2011-2012.
On Friday, April 13, Mrs. Pat Smith visited in the home of Mrs. Brenda Walton of Powhatan. They had an enjoyable breakfast prepared by Mrs. Walton.
Brianna, Charles and Christina Smith, of Keysville, spent Friday night at the home of their grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Jeff Smith. The grandchildren and Mr. Smith worked together on making items for the upcoming craft season for Mother's Heart Soaps and Toiletries. On Saturday afternoon Mr. Smith and the grandchildren walked the High Bridge Trail.
Monday evening Mr. and Mrs. Jeff Smith hosted the monthly covered dish dinner for the small group from Faith Bible Fellowship. Those attending were Mr. and Mrs. Al Quinlan, Mr. and Mrs. Richard McClintock, Mr. and Mrs. Dan Trump, and Mrs. Hilda Watson.
Mr. and Mrs. Ray Noblin entertained Wanda Nash and Harold Higgins with a cookout on Sunday afternoon.
Mrs. and Mrs. William Amos were in Prospect on Saturday evening enjoying the fellowship and spaghetti supper at the Prospect Fire House.
Mr. and Mrs. John Gager were joined by Mr. and Mrs. Don Meadows, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Schall and Betty Sumner at the Prospect Fire House where they enjoyed the delicious spaghetti supper.
Members of the Kelsey family attended the memorial service at St. John's Lutheran Church for Avis Schember.
On Sunday afternoon, Mr. and Mrs. Jeff Smith hosted a lunch for Mrs. Smith's parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Keaveny, of Orange. They were celebrating Mrs. Keaveny's birthday, which was April 15.
Mrs. Vickie Johns of Amelia visited her father, William Amos and Mrs. Sue Amos one day last week.
Mrs. Peggy Kelsey attended the Memorial Service Monday night for Mrs. Nancy Jenetta Banton at the Shorter Funeral Home. Mrs. Visa Simpson and Mrs. Banton were dear friends.
Mr. and Mrs. Richard Stockton were among the many attending the spaghetti supper at Prospect on Saturday evening. The food was delicious and the fellowship was great, friends, Scott and Hilda Friend, from Cumberland came to share the meal time.
Mrs. Flora Bolt visited Charles Southall Jr. and Mrs. Edna Woodson at Trinity Mission March 13, also visiting Mrs. Woodson was her husband, William.
Mr. and Mrs. John Fulcher traveled to Amelia on Sunday to visit Mr. Luther Pace.
Family, friends and neighbors wish a speedy recovery for those who are sick at this time. Robby Franklin
Friends and neighbors are extending their heartfelt sympathy to the family of Mr. Otto Overton. Appomattox P.E. Presbyterian Church at Tuggle invites everyone to Sunday School at 10 a.m. with worship at 11 a.m. The Rev. Chuck Klotzberger will be in the pulpit this Sunday, Palm Sunday.
The membership of Davis Memorial Presbyterian Church at Prospect invites you to come and worship with them every Sunday; Sunday School is at 10 a.m.with worship at 11 a.m.
Calvary Chapel-Farmville invites you to worship with them on Sunday mornings at 10:30 a.m. They invite you to join them each week on Wednesday evening for Bible Study for all age groups at 7 p.m. Calvary Chapel-Farmville is located at 45 Simpson Road in Prospect, two miles west of Dowdy's Corner just off of US 460.
