Falling is a reality for many of us who are seniors. Knowing what to do and where to go is so important in the healing process. It is very important that we seek professional help immediately and not wait like I did. I am very grateful to my doctor, Dr. Sal Bavuso, for ordering the necessary tests to find the cause of my pain and showing me stretch exercises that would help with the pain.
Also, I am very thankful for his referral to the Woodland Center for physical therapy. It was a wonderful experience working out on the new equipment. Special thanks to my therapist, Dana, and intern student, Chelsey, who worked tirelessly with me. Also, Toshal, who evaluated my progress. I knew physical therapy was working for me because each day after the session, I felt better. Someone said, “exercise is medicine.” I would say amen to that quote. While I am not functioning at the level before my fall, I am so thankful to be able to walk without pain. Again, I would like to say thanks to all my therapists.
