April 5 – Happy Birthday wishes are sent out to: Nora Atkinson, of Dillwyn, celebrating on Saturday, April 7; Louise Crews, of Buckingham, celebrating on Sunday, April 8; and Florence Lango, of Dillwyn, and Cheryl Canipe, of Henrico, celebrating on Monday, April 9.
Barry and Linda Miles, of Cumberland, along with Timothy Wallace and Florence Benton, of Dillwyn, all enjoyed an afternoon meal at a Farmville restaurant on Friday afternoon, March 30. They also attended the presentation The Choice held at New Life Assembly of God Church in Farmville on Friday evening. A nice time was had by all.
Our thoughts and prayers go out this week to those who are sick and shut-in.
Bradley Carter, of North Carolina, spent a few days last week with his sister Ann Carter in Dillwyn.
Pete and Annie May Miles, of Dillwyn, visited in the home of James and Virginia Boyles in Cumberland on Monday afternoon, April 2.
Barry and Linda Miles attended the Bluegrass Gospel Concert featuring Sierra Hull and Highway 111 held at the Kenbridge Virginia Community Center. A sold-out crowd enjoyed a spectacular evening of great entertainment.
The Rev. Jack Figgins, of Strasburg, preached locally on Sunday afternoon, April 1. He along with Barry Miles shared in the service together having a great time in the Lord. Hello this week to our good friend Jane Cooke and her family of Brookneal.
Pete and Annie May Miles, along with Barry and Linda Miles, spent Wednesday, April 4 in Richmond and visited with Earlene Baker and her son Steve. A nice visit was noted.
Hint: To clean laminated hardwood floors a good solution is two-thirds cup white vinegar, two-thirds cup rubbing alcohol and two-thirds cup water. It cleans good, dry's fast and leaves a good shine on your floor.
Arvonia Christian Fellowship Church, located off of U.S. Route 15 North of Dillwyn in Arvonia on State Route 672, will host a Gospel Sing and Supper on Saturday, April 7. A buffet supper will begin at 6 p.m. Followed by Gospel Music beginning at 7 p.m. featuring the singing policeman Danny Figgins of Front Royal. A love offering will be received. All are cordially invited to attend.
The Buckingham County Christian Fellowship Association, a non-profit organization, will hold their regular monthly meeting on Saturday, April 14 at 1 p.m. at Hatcher Baptist Church, located, off of U.S. Route 15 North of Dillwyn at the intersection of State Routes 617 and 622. All members are cordially invited to attend and bring a covered dish and a flower or plant to exchange. Tea and coffee will beer provided by the association.
