Ceremony Held

The marriage of Miss Kathryn O'Hara Dickson to Captain John Michael Furr took place on December 30, 2011, at Resurrection Lutheran Church in Virginia Beach.
Pastor Jonathan Fischer officiated.
The bride is the daughter of Colonel and Mrs. Keith D. Dickson, of Virginia Beach. She is the granddaughter of Jane Crute and the late J. David Crute, of Farmville, and of the late Peggy Dickson Butler and Donald Dickson, also of Farmville. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Furr, of Knoxville, TN.
The bride was given in marriage by her father.
Colleen Dickson, sister of the bride, was soloist and maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Mrs. Morgan McDaniel, sister of the groom, of Grafenwoehr, Germany; Mrs. Nick Holter, of San Diego, CA; Cheree Koenig, of Anchorage, AK; and Rachel Struck, of Oakley, MI.
Justin Woychowski of Burbank, CA, was best man. Groomsmen were Matthew Furr, brother of the groom, of Fairview, OK; Morgan McDaniel, brother-in-law of the groom, of Grafenwoehr, Germany; Troy Loewen, of Nashville, TN; and Zach Busenbark, of Lawton, OK. Ushers were Jeremy Mack, of Fairfax, and Chris Wellington, of Ft. Benning, GA.
A rehearsal dinner hosted by the parents of the groom was held at the Anchor Inn, Virginia Beach.
A reception with dinner and dancing hosted by the parents of the bride was held at the Greenbrier Country Club in Chesapeake.
After a wedding trip to Jamaica, the couple will be stationed with the First Infantry Division at Ft. Riley, KS.
The bride is a 2010 graduate of Martin Luther College in New Ulm, MN, with a bachelor's degree in early childhood education. She is currently pursuing a master's degree in the same field. The groom is a 2006 graduate of Central Michigan University in Mount Pleasant, MI, with a degree in mechanical engineering.
Captain Furr is attending the artillery officer career course in Ft. Sill, OK.
