Generational art exhibit opens

“The House We Build,” curated by Alex Grabiec, is a collaboration by artist James Williams II and his two daughters, Indigo and Zoe, interrogating topics like family, friendships and race. The piece is a miniature four-walled house with windows and silhouettes of furnishings. Drawings by his daughters decorate the walls. From left are James, Indigo, Tyanisha Williams and Zoe.

The Longwood Center for the Visual Arts (LCVA) held an opening for its latest installations on Friday night, “Future Planets” and “The House We Build.” Both focus on parent and child relationships through art and are free for public viewing through Jan. 2 at LCVA.
