Sealed BIDS for the construction of the Route 60 Waterline Extension will be received at the Cumberland County Administration Building, 1 Courthouse Circle, Cumberland VA 23040, until 2:00 PM, local prevailing time on Tuesday, March 27, 2012, and then at said office publicly opened and read aloud.
The work under this Contract is generally described as the construction of approximately 8,800 LF of 12-inch waterline, approximately 550 LF of 10-inch waterline, approximately 1,250 LF of 8-inch sewer force main by directional drilling, three (3) bore and jack operations, over 60 water service connections, and all associated clearing and grubbing, erosion control, pavement overlay and restoration, and appurtenances.

Copies of the BIDDING DOCUMENTS may be obtained at the office of Dewberry & Davis, Inc., upon receipt of a $100.00 non-refundable deposit per set. Contracts Documents will be shipped via FedEx. Bidders requesting shipment by other carriers shall include a separate, non-refundable check to provide for shipping charges or a valid account number with the designated carrier. All checks are to be made payable to Dewberry & Davis, Inc.
A non-mandatory Pre-Bid Conference will be held at the Cumberland County Old Clerk's Office, 1 Courthouse Circle, Cumberland, VA 23040, on Thursday, March 15, 2012, at 10:00 AM local prevailing time. All prospective bidders are encouraged to attend.
BIDS shall be accompanied by a Bid Security as specified in the Instructions to Bidders. Withdrawal of Bids shall be according to procedure (i), Section 11-54 of the Code of Virginia, as amended. BIDDERS must be licensed as a Contractor in the Commonwealth of Virginia and the Bidder's attention is directed to the requirements of Title 54.1, Chapter 11, of the Code of Virginia.
The OWNER reserves the right to waive irregularities and informalities in bids received and to reject any and all bids and to award the contract where it appears to be in the best interest of the Owner.
