Looking around the yard this week I see robins every where. The daffodils and hyacinths are coming up. Hyacinths have blooms forming – are we going to have any winter at all?
The upcoming play at the Waterworks Theater is “Almost Maine” to take place Friday and Saturday the 10 -11 and 17 -18 of February. Make your plans now to go; the Waterwork Players do an excellent job with all their productions.
Emma Schulz, of Glen Allen, will celebrate her birthday on April 1 not Feb. 2.
Mrs. Ruth K. Simpson enjoyed a visit from her daughter, Mrs. Susan Shirley of Churchville over the weekend.
Mrs. Peggy Kelsey and Mrs. Julie Shields attended the Longwood Garden Club meeting at the home of Mrs. Cynthia Wood last Monday. They were delighted when both of them won blue ribbons on their arrangements.
Mr. and Mrs. Don Meadows met some friends at Merk's Place for dinner on Friday.
Hampden-Sydney fans, Mr. and Mrs. Dale Bolt; Mrs. Peggy Kelsey; grandchildren, Debra Sue Shumaker and Darrell Shumaker also their friends Rachel and Madeline Hammock traveled last Wednesday to the game with Lynchburg College and then on Saturday to the game with Randolph College.

The menu will consist of pancakes, sausage, bacon, ham, apples, coffee, tea and lemonade. The cost is a donation
Appomattox P.E. Presbyterian Church at Tuggle invites everyone to Sunday School at 10 a.m. with worship at 11 a.m. Rev. Chuck Klotzberger will be in the pulpit this Sunday.
The membership of Davis Memorial Presbyterian Church at Prospect invites you to come and worship with them every Sunday; Sunday School is at 10 a.m. with worship at 11 a.m. Kemper Beasley III will be at Davis Memorial this Sunday.
