Howard Lee (H.L.) Watson, 82

DILLWYN, Jan. 10 – Howard Lee (H.L.) Watson, 82, of Dillwyn, went to be with the Lord on Friday, January 6, 2012. Born in Sevierville County, TN on December 29, 1929, he was the son of the late Dowe Watson Sr. and Mamie Stinnett Watson.
He attended Arvonia High School, which is where he played baseball, one of his favorite sports. H.L. left school to serve his country in the United States Navy, while serving he received his GED. He was a retired postal mail carrier and also served on the Regional Control mail train where he sorted mail into bags to be thrown off at the rail stations.
He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Lorraine; children, Sheila Mozingo (Harry) and Kathy Peaslee (Bob) both of New Canton, Angie Morris (Ray) of Cumberland, and Kelly Hodges of Dillwyn; brothers, Dowe June Jr, (Mary), Carol (May), Ray, and Gene (Maxine); grandchildren, Jessica Lester (Terry, aka Bubba), Niki Scranton (Doug), Derek and Chad Woodson, Robbie Peaslee, Michael Mozingo (Denise), Jimmy Peaslee (Candy LeSueur), and Clif Noble (Tasha Martin); great-grandchildren, Lydia, Trey, and Caitlin Lester, Caleb and Nolan Mozingo, Casey and Devin LeSueur, Braydon and Emma Scranton, and Thomas Noble; and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by a brother, Harold of Powhatan and sister, Merle Wingfield of Chesterfield.

A memorial service was held Monday, January 9, at Cedar Baptist Church in Dillwyn. Flowers may be sent to Cedar Baptist Church or memorial donations may be sent to Buckingham County Volunteer Rescue Squad.
