Funeral Service For Louise V. Farley, 90 Held Monday

DECEMBER 29 – Louise Vick Farley, 90, of Farmville and Rice, went to be with the Lord, Wednesday, December 23, 2009. She was the wife of Winston Farley and daughter of the late William H. and Fannie Davis Vick.
Mrs. Farley was born October 25, 1919 in Southampton County. She attended State Teachers College, now Longwood University, and taught in the Rice Elementary School. In 1978 she became manager of the Trear's Store where she remained until she retired in 1988. She attended Pisgah Baptist Church where she faithfully served in many positions.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Harry, Leon, and Gilbert Vick and a sister, Marion Miller Fahrner.
She is survived by two sons, William H. Farley and wife, Carolyn of Altavista and Robert E. Farley and wife, Deborah of Smith Mt. Lake, Moneta; three grandchildren, Jennifer Farley Purvis and husband, Gary of Roanoke, Kimberly Farley Hancock and husband, Greg of Roanoke and David Farley of Altavista; three great-grandchildren, Tyler Purvis and Justin Purvis of Roanoke and Sydney Farley of Altavista and many friends and extended family members.
A funeral service was conducted Sunday at Pisgah Baptist Church, Rice, with the Rev. C. Earl Wallace officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery.
