John T. Herren, 85 Retired CPA Dies Thursday

MARCH 25 – John Thomas Herren, 85, of Farmville, died Thursday, March 25, 2004 In Farmville.

He was born March 31, 1918 in Illinois, a son of the late Harry William and Florence Elsie Elaine Date Herren.

Mr. Herren served in the Air Force for 20 years, including service during World War II and the Korean War. After retiring as a CPA in Hampton, he made his home in Farmville in 1985 He is survived by his wife, Reba Krause Herren; his daughters, Carolyn Lewis and her husband, Buddy of Hampton, Elaine Wilson of Richmond, Shirley Hobbs and her husband, Steve of Apache Junction, Arizona and Lois McCoy and her husband, Mac of Raleigh, NC; his grandchildren. Art and John Keene of Michigan, Bryan and Sarah McCoy of North Carolina and Clay and Charlie Lewis if Virginia and four great grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday at the Chapel of Shorter Funeral Home, Farmville, with interment at 3 p.m. in Beulah Baptist Church Cemetery, Kents Store.

The family will receive friends Saturday morning from 10 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
