Richard Allen Nichols IIRichard Allen Nichols II, affectionately known as Ricky, passed away on April 3, at the age of 52 in Farmville. Born on Sept. 3, 1972, in Statesboro, Georgia, son of the late Richard Allen and Joann Nichols; and grandson of the late Elizabeth and Raleigh Nichols of Rice, where he was raised.

Ricky was a devoted and adoring husband to his wife of 24 years, Katherine, and a loving father to his daughters, Taylor and Jaden, and his son, Evan. Known for his infectious humor and unwavering kindness, he had a remarkable ability to brighten the day of everyone he met. He had a rare gift for making others laugh, leaving a lasting impact on all who crossed his path. He never met a stranger and took joy in giving nicknames to those around him, a testament to his playful and warm spirit.

A passionate sports enthusiast, Ricky was a die-hard Pittsburgh Steelers fan and found great fulfillment in coaching youth baseball, softball, basketball and golf. His positive influence touched countless young lives, making each child feel special and valued. Music was another of his great loves and he also cherished time at the beach, where he loved to watch the pelicans, which he fondly nicknamed “Georges”.

Ricky is survived by his wife, Katherine; daughters, Taylor and Jaden, and son, Evan; grandchildren, Maximus, Alistair, Kyas and Skylar High; brother, Tom Freeman (Tammy), and a sister, Robin Nichols. He also leaves behind his beloved dog, Luna, and precious cat, Rudy. His absence leaves a profound void in the hearts of his family and friends, who will forever cherish his memory. He was the best example of living and loving each day to the fullest, and he will be greatly missed, always.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, April 13, at 1 p.m at Puckett Funeral Home in Farmville, followed by a funeral service at 2 p.m. A celebration of his life will follow at The Old Pig, 5169 Farmville Road, Farmville.
