APRIL 17
MAUNDY THURSDAY – Johns Memorial Episcopal Church, located at 400 High Street in Farmville, will hold a Maundy Thursday service at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 17.
MAUNDY THURSDAY – Thomas Chapel, located at 1313 Cartersville Road in Cartersville, will hold Maundy Thursday services starting at 7 p.m. on Thursday, April 17.
FREE LOCAL MUSIC – North Street Press Club, located at 127 North Street in Farmville, will host musical group The Porch Gliders, on Thursday, April 17, beginning at 9 p.m.
APRIL 18
MOAA MEETING – Military Officers Association of America (MOAA), will hold a self-pay luncheon meeting on Friday, April 18 at 12:30. That will be held at Charlie’s Waterfront Cafe.
GOOD FRIDAY – The Green Creek New Site Baptist Church, located at 573 River Road in Farmville, will celebrate Good Friday with a service on Friday, April 18, starting at 7 p.m. The theme will be “The Three Crosses” from Luke 23:33-43. Ministries from local and surrounding churches will present the three crosses, with the Midway Baptist Church Choir also on hand.
GOOD FRIDAY – Cedar Baptist Church, located at 3932 Bell Road in Dillwyn, will hold Good Friday services on Friday, April 18 at 7 p.m.

GOOD FRIDAY – Oak Grove Baptist Church, located at 2083 S. James Madison Highway in Farmville, will hold Good Friday services starting at 7 p.m. The sermon will be “The Cup, The Cross and The Tomb” with guest ministers Pastor Michael Mosley, Minister Andre Blanton and Pastor Lyoshi Esters. Musical guests will be the Full Life Choir.

FREE MOVIE — The High Street Theatre, located at 102 High Street in Farmville, will host a screening of the 2017 Audrey Plaza black comedy Ingrid Goes West on Friday, April 18, starting at 7 p.m. All High Street movies are free to the public.
FREE LOCAL MUSIC — Charley’s Waterfront Cafe, located at 201 B. Mill Street in Farmville, will host music group The Porch Gliders on Friday, April 18, beginning at 7 p.m. The event is free and open to the public.

EASTER EGG HUNT – Thomas Chapel, located at 1313 Cartersville Road in Cartersville, will hold an Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, April 19, starting at 9 a.m.
FARMVILLE COMMUNITY MARKET – The Farmville Community Marketplace, located at 213 North Street, will be open from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
BAKE SALE & CHICKEN Q – Thomas Chapel, located at 1313 Cartersville Road in Cartersville, will hold a fundraiser bake sale and chicken que on Saturday, April 19. Funds will go to support the church’s local projects. The bake sale starts at 9 a.m., chicken halves will be $8 and should be ready by noon. Pre-orders can be placed with Shelly by calling 804-837-1566.
EASTER EGG HUNT – Cedar Baptist Church, located at 3932 Bell Road in Dillwyn, will hold an Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, April 19, starting at 10 a.m. There will be a hot dog lunch afterwards.
COMMUNITY CLEAN UP – There will be a Community Road Clean Up in Meherrin on Saturday, April 19. Hosted by Ruth Brown and Debbie Vigneri of Heart Space, A Peaceful Place, the event will start at 5104 Double Bridges Road, starting at 10 a.m. and running until noon, with a potluck following from noon until 1 p.m. The group will remove trash and debris along two miles of Double Bridges Road. Residents are asked to bring work gloves if you have them, along with sturdy shoes and boots. The group will supply safety vests, grabbers and bags.
EASTER EGG HUNT – Buckingham Baptist Church, located at 24234 N. James Madison Highway in New Canton, will hold an Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, April 19, beginning at noon. There will be refreshments afterward.
EASTER EGG HUNT – Cumberland Parks and Recreation will hold an Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, April 19, at the LPJ Community Center. That’ll begin at 1 p.m. and will also feature food vendors, different games and bounce houses.
EASTER EGG HUNT – An Easter Egg Hunt/Fun Day will be held at Triumph Baptist Church on Saturday, April 19 at 3 p.m. There will be games, food and drinks. Area youth are invited to attend. The church is located at 2756 Darlington Heights Road in Cullen.
CRUISE-IN – The Heart of Virginia Classic Auto Club will hold its first cruise-in on Saturday, April 19, at the parking lot by Tractor Supply in Farmville. That will run from 5 p.m. until dusk. Bring your classic or antique to show or just drop by and check them out. There will be a 50/50 raffle held as well.
FREE MOVIE — The High Street Theatre, located at 102 High Street in Farmville, will host a screening of the 1990 Jennie Livingston drama Paris is Burning about the ball culture, starting at 7 p.m. All High Street movies are free to the public.
FREE LOCAL MUSIC — Charley’s Waterfront Cafe, located at 201 B. Mill Street in Farmville, will host musician Mike Dill on Saturday, April 19, beginning at 7 p.m. The event is free and open to the public.

EASTER SERVICES – Midway Baptist Church, located at 837 Guinea Road in Farmville, will hold a Sunrise Service on Easter Sunday, April 20, starting at 6 a.m. The guest minister will be Pastor Cetric Gayles of Cornerstone Baptist Church along with his choir. Breakfast will be served afterward. The Third Sunday Hour of Power Worship Service will be held at 10 a.m.
EASTER SERVICES – New Bethel Baptist Church, located at 14167 Farmville Road in Meherrin, will hold Sunrise Service at 6:30 a.m., with Easter service at 10:45 a.m. Breakfast will be served after Sunrise Service. Rev. Shandell Berryman Howell, Pastor of New Witt Baptist Church, will deliver the message for both services.
EASTER SERVICES – Cedar Baptist Church, located at 3932 Bell Road in Dillwyn, will hold Sunrise Service at 6:30 a.m. on Sunday, April 20, followed by breakfast at 7 a.m. and then Easter Worship at 8 a.m. There will be no Sunday School or 11 a.m. worship.
EASTER SERVICES – Buckingham Baptist Church will hold Easter Sunrise Service on Sunday, April 20. That’ll start at 7 a.m., followed by breakfast in the church fellowship hall.
EASTER SERVICES – Bethel United Methodist Church, located at 3551 Andersonville Road in Dillwyn, will hold Sonrise Service at 7 a.m. on Sunday, April 20 with Pastor John Flood. There will be a light breakfast afterward, with traditional worship at 10 a.m.
EASTER SERVICES – Oak Grove Baptist Church, located at 2083 James Madison Highway in Farmville, will hold Sunrise Service at 7 a.m. on Sunday, April 20. Breakfast will follow morning worship. There will be no 11 a.m. service.
EASTER SERVICES – Johns Memorial Episcopal Church, located at 400 High Street in Farmville, will hold two services on Easter Sunday, April 20. There will be a Holy Eucharist Rite I service at 8 a.m. and a Holy Eucharist Rite II service at 10:30 a.m., featuring the church choir and accompanying musicians.
EASTER SERVICES – Thomas Chapel, located at 1313 Cartersville Road in Cartersville, will celebrate Easter first with a 9 a.m. breakfast, followed by Bible Study at 10 a.m. and Easter Service at 11 a.m.
EASTER SERVICES – Concord Baptist Church will celebrate Easter at the FOCUS Center, located at 6114 Deer Run Road. That’s in Buckingham, adjacent to the church cemetery. There will be a 9:30 a.m. light breakfast, followed by worship at 11 a.m.

NAACP MEETING – The Prince Edward branch of the NAACP will hold its regular meeting on Monday, April 21, starting at 6 p.m. at the Moton Museum.
APRIL 22
SOIL & WATER BOARD – The Piedmont Soil and Water Conservation District Board of Directors will meet on Tuesday, April 22, starting at 11 a.m. That’ll take place at the Prince Edward County Agricultural Building, located at 100 Dominion Drive in Farmville.
EARTH FAIR – The Farmville library will hold an Earth Fair on Tuesday, April 22, starting at 4 p.m. Different organizations will have tables you can visit, along with seed and plant cutting giveaways.
CHURCH MEETING – All Jericho Baptist Church members are asked to attend a meeting on Tuesday, April 22, beginning at 6 p.m. That’ll be held at the church, located at 615 Franklin Street in Farmville.

FREE MOVIE — The High Street Theatre, located at 102 High Street in Farmville, will host a screening of the 1981 Harrison Ford classic Raiders of the Lost Ark on Friday, April 25, starting at 7 p.m. All High Street movies are free to the public.
FREE LOCAL MUSIC — Charley’s Waterfront Cafe, located at 201 B. Mill Street in Farmville, will host music group No Charge on Friday, April 25, beginning at 7 p.m. The event is free and open to the public.
APRIL 26
FARMVILLE COMMUNITY MARKET – The Farmville Community Marketplace, located at 213 North Street, will be open from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
CRUISE-IN – Darlington Heights Volunteer Fire Department, located at 2673 Darlington Heights Road in Pamplin, will hold their third annual Spring Cruise-In benefit on Saturday, April 26, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Admission is free, with dash plaques for the first 75 show cars. Fresh grilled food will be available for purchase, with live music and plenty of parking.
TEA IN THE AFTERNOON – Johns Memorial Episcopal Church will hold Tea in the Afternoon on Saturday, April 26, starting at 2 p.m. The event will take place in the Parish Hall, with funds going to support Madeline’s House, the Farmville shelter for victims of domestic abuse. The event will feature Karen Donnelly, a tea sommelier, who will prepare three types of tea and offer background on the history of tea and provide ideas for cooking with tea. SPAGHETTI DINNER – Members of the Friends of Barnabas Mission Teams will be hosting a spaghetti dinner and cake auction on Saturday, April 26, starting at 5:30 p.m. This will be held at Farmville United Methodist Church, with the proceeds going to support two medical mission trips in Honduras. There will be both gluten free and alpha gal options. It will start with dinner, have a brief presentation about the medical missions and wrap up with a cake/dessert auction.

USHER’S MINISTRY – Sharon Baptist Church in Cumberland will celebrate the 78th anniversary of its Usher’s Ministry on Sunday, April 27, starting at 10 a.m. Rev. Hilda Foster, Associate Minister of Gravel Hill Baptist Church, will be the guest preacher.
FAMILY & FRIENDS DAY – Monroe Baptist Church will hold Family and Friends Day on Sunday, April 27. Worship starts at 11 a.m., followed by light refreshments and then a second service at 1:30 p.m. The Cornerstone Men’s Chorus will be featured guests, as well as One in Mime.
