Randolph ‘Randy’ Munford died on Saturday, March 8. He resided at 2245 Back Mountain Road, Dillwyn, for 14 years. He was 86 years old. The family is deeply saddened by his death. Randy was born July 27, 1938 in the District of Columbia.
Randy’s memory lives on by his sister-in-law, Bobbie Hutcheson; nephew, Byrd Hutcheson and wife Anna; niece, Laura Lancaster of Jacksonville, Florida and great nieces and nephews, Nikki Jackson, Ashlee Clark, Tyler Hutcheson, Travis Hutcheson and Bradley Lancaster. He will not be forgotten by his friends and the stories they shared.
He is preceded in death by his beloved and devoted wife Carollynn in 2022. They were married 60 years and had no children.
Randy lived in Ashland for 46 years. He worked for Seaboard Coastline Railroad for 15 years and the Commonwealth of Virginia for approximately 30 years as a Livestock Inspector.
He relocated to Dillwyn, in 2011. When not working, his passion was motorcycles, old cars, horses and dogs.
His lifelong passion was being a true cowboy. He was an avid horseman. Training for and winning championships for cattle roping. Randy’s love of training Border Collies resulted in winning sheep dog trials. He took pride in collecting old cars and was attached to his 1986 Chevrolet El Camino.
Services will be held at Dunkum Funeral Home on Saturday, March 15. Visitation from 10:30 to 11 a.m. Funeral services by Billy Swan will be at 11 a.m. Interment following funeral service will be at Grace Road Cemetery, 47 Ca Ira Road, Cumberland.
