The scientists noted all the seismographic readings from the San Andreas fault in California. The readings indicated an impending earthquake of massive proportions. At the same time the huge Yellowstone Caldera was showing signs of a pressure buildup. The scientific information made headline news and the public was sufficiently warned of the impending disaster. On the other side of the world Mount Vesuvius was rumbling. The people of Naples went about their daily endeavors. They either weren’t concerned or believed Fox News, Truth Social and X, who conveyed a different view of the concerning data.

The public who watched and believed the alternate truths and ignored the facts from real sources of information were not concerned. They must have believed, as Mao Zedong did, that destroying the foundations of established history and culture was essential for rebirth, apparently even if that meant their own destruction. When San Francisco was reduced to rubble and the rest of the United States was rent asunder, as was Europe, much of the US and European population were in shock. How did this happen? We were told not to worry and that the warnings were without warrant.

But, as in Indiana Jones “The Last Crusade,” when the knight guarding the Holy Grail told the Nazi, who had just drank water from the chalice, “you chose poorly,” many people have chosen wrong. Unfortunately, we will all have to pay for their ineptitude. When Trump declares he will not abide by the rulings of our government’s judicial branch, this country will have to face the consequences and hopefully resort to its only recourse to regain our rights and rebuild. Long live the king.
