MARCH 22
PANCAKE SUPPER – The Prospect Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary will hold a pancake supper fundraiser on Saturday, March 22 from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. This will be at the Prospect firehouse, located at 45 Campbell Hill Road in the Village of Prospect. Side items will include sausage, bacon, apples and a drink. The cost is a donation at the door.
FREE MOVIE — The High Street Theatre, located at 102 High Street in Farmville, will host a screening of the 1958 Toshiro Mifune movie Hidden Fortress on Saturday, March 22, starting at 7 p.m. All High Street movies are free to the public.
FREE LOCAL MUSIC — Charley’s Waterfront Cafe, located at 201 B. Mill Street in Farmville, will host musician Keith McFaden on Saturday, March 22, beginning at 7 p.m. The event is free and open to the public.
FREE LOCAL MUSIC – North Street Press Club, located at 127 North Street in Farmville, will host musician Karlee Raye, on Saturday, March 22, beginning at 9 p.m.

PRAISE TEAM ANNIVERSARY – New Bethel Baptist Church, located at 14167 Farmville Road in Meherrin, will celebrate the sixth anniversary of its “Devotion in Motion” Praise Dance Ministry Team on Sunday, March 23, beginning at 3 p.m. There will be guest praise dancers and a guest choir in attendance.
MARCH 24
DEMOCRATIC MEETING – The Prince Edward Democratic Committee will hold its regular monthly meeting on Monday, March 24, starting at 6 p.m. That’ll be held at the Extension Office, located at 100 Dominion Drive in Farmville. A spokesperson from Madeline’s House will talk about the services they offer for domestic violence and sexual assault victims.
MARCH 25
PANCAKE BREAKFAST – The Piedmont Area Veterans Council will hold a Pancake Breakfast fundraiser on Tuesday, March 25. That will run from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Merk’s Place, located at 2106 W. Third Street in Farmville. There will be a 50/50 drawing, raffle items and a silent auction.
DEMOCRATIC MEETING – The Buckingham County Democrats will meet on Tuesday, March 25, beginning at 6 p.m. That’ll take place at the Agriculture Center at 54 Administration Drive in Buckingham Courthouse.

LENTEN LUNCHEON – Payne Memorial Church, located at 1 Stoney Point Road in Cumberland, will host a Lenten Luncheon on Wednesday, March 12, beginning at noon. Lunch will be provided, with Rev. Helen Cannon speaking at 12:30 p.m.

YOUTH REVIVAL – Midway Baptist Church’s annual Youth Revival will be held Thursday, March 27 and Friday, March 28. Praise and Worship starts at 7 p.m., followed by the service at 7:30 p.m. The guest minister both nights will be Pastor James Hurt Jr. of First Rock Baptist Church. Midway Baptist is located at 837 Guinea Road in Farmville.

VFW OPEN HOUSE – The VFW Post 7059 will host a Vietnam Veterans Day Open House on Saturday, March 28, running from 10 a.m. to noon. There will be a short program, followed by an invitation for any veterans to share their story. The Post is located at 1616 Graham Road in Farmville and for more information, call Post Commander Jay Fort at 606-284-8849.
FREE LOCAL MUSIC — Charley’s Waterfront Cafe, located at 201 B. Mill Street in Farmville, will host music group No Charge on Friday, March 28, beginning at 7 p.m. The event is free and open to the public.

PRAYER BREAKFAST – A men’s prayer breakfast will be held at Triumph Baptist Church on Saturday, March 29, starting at 10 a.m. The church is located at 2756 Darlington Heights Road in Cullen.
CHOIR CONCERT – Sharon Baptist Church will present an Alleluia Choir Concert in honor of First Lady Rev. Sybil Franklin Jones on Saturday, March 29, beginning at 3 p.m. The concert is in tribute to her more than 50 years of dedicated service to the music ministry at Sharon. The choir will consist of members from all past choirs of the church.
FREE MOVIE — The High Street Theatre, located at 102 High Street in Farmville, will host a screening of the 1948 Humphrey Bogart movie The Treasure of the Sierra Madre on Saturday, March 29, starting at 7 p.m. All High Street movies are free to the public.

FREE LOCAL MUSIC – North Street Press Club, located at 127 North Street in Farmville, will host musical group Council Ring, on Saturday, March 29, beginning at 9 p.m.

BIKERS BLESSING – Shiloh Baptist Church will celebrate the Bikers Blessing on Sunday, March 30, starting at 10 a.m. Steve Hurt and the Shiloh Praise Ensemble will provide the music, with Rev. Dr. Horace Parham delivering the message. Lunch will be served after the service. Bikers are asked to contact Eugene Wells if they plan to attend by calling 434-547-7037.
MEN’S DAY – Triumph Baptist Church, located at 2756 Darlington Heights Road in Cullen, will hold Men’s Day on Sunday, March 30, during the 11 a.m. service. Rev. Stanley Wesley, pastor of Peaks Baptist Church will deliver the message, accompanied by the Peaks Baptist Church Male Chorus.
CHURCH BENEFIT – High Bridge Baptist Church will hold a benefit program on Sunday, March 30 for Sister Dorothy “Cill” Eanes. That’ll take place at 2 p.m. Pastor Tim will deliver the message, with a guest choir to provide music.

LENTEN LUNCHEON – Payne Memorial Church, located at 1 Stoney Point Road in Cumberland, will host a Lenten Luncheon on Wednesday, April 2, beginning at noon. Lunch will be provided.
MUSEUM REOPENS – Historic Buckingham’s two museums , the Adams Museum and the Housewright House Museum will reopen on April 2. Both museums will be open to the public every Wednesday and Saturday from 1 to 4 p.m. All are welcome and there is no admission charge. The museums are located at 13016 W James Anderson Hwy, Buckingham –across from the Courthouse on Rt. 60.

MUSEUM REOPENS – The Adams Museum and the Housewright House Museum will be open on April 5, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. There is no charge for the museums, which are located at 13016 W. James Anderson Highway in Buckingham, across from the Buckingham Courthouse on Route 60.
WOMEN’S DAY – The women of Mercy Seat Baptist Church will hold a Women’s Day Gospel Program on Saturday, April 5, starting at 2 p.m.
FREE LOCAL MUSIC – North Street Press Club, located at 127 North Street in Farmville, will host musician Maggie Baugh, on Saturday, April 5, beginning at 9 p.m.

VILLAGE REOPENS – The Historic Buckingham Village at Lee Wayside will reopen on Sunday, April 6, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. There is no admission and the Historic Village is located at 84 Lee Wayside Road in Buckingham, about two miles east of Sprouses Corner.
APRIL 9
LENTEN LUNCHEON – Payne Memorial Church, located at 1 Stoney Point Road in Cumberland, will host a Lenten Luncheon on Wednesday, April 9, beginning at noon. Lunch will be provided, with Rev. Rick Bucher speaking at 12:30 p.m.

PASTORAL ANNIVERSARY – Forest Baptist Church in Meherrin will celebrate Pastor and First Lady Walker on their 5th Pastoral Anniversary on Saturday, April 12. The service will start at 3 p.m., with Rev. Rolando Twine from Holy Trinity Missionary Baptist Church in Rocky Mount delivering the message.

GARDEN CLUB – The Buckingham-Dillwyn Garden Club will meet on Tuesday, April 15, starting at 10 a.m. That’ll take place at the Cooperative Extension Office, located at 54 Administration Lane in Buckingham.
APRIL 16
LENTEN LUNCHEON – Payne Memorial Church, located at 1 Stoney Point Road in Cumberland, will host a Lenten Luncheon on Wednesday, April 16, beginning at noon. Lunch will be provided, with Rev. Louis Brandt speaking at 12:30 p.m.
APRIL 18
GOOD FRIDAY – The Green Creek New Site Baptist Church, located at 573 River Road in Farmville, will celebrate Good Friday with a service on Friday, April 18, starting at 7 p.m. The theme will be “The Three Crosses” from Luke 23:33-43. Ministries from local and surrounding churches will present the three crosses, with the Midway Baptist Church Choir also on hand.
APRIL 26
SPAGHETTI DINNER – Members of the Friends of Barnabas Mission Teams will be hosting a spaghetti dinner and cake auction on Saturday, April 26, starting at 5:30 p.m. This will be held at Farmville United Methodist Church, with the proceeds going to support two medical mission trips in Honduras. There will be both gluten free and alpha gal options. It will start with dinner, have a brief presentation about the medical missions and wrap up with a cake/dessert auction.
MAY 2
LADIES RETREAT – The 27th annual Ladies Retreat for the Farmville Church of Christ, located at 1401 Milnwood Road in Farmville, will be held on Friday, May 2. That’ll run from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., with a theme of “Being an Overcomer”. The guest speaker is Ellie Lofaro, an author featured on CBN, Focus on the Family and other programs. There will be a complimentary dinner, special music, door prizes, fellowship and fun. You can register at farmvillechurchofchrist.org/ladies-retreat by April 23.
