Martha ‘Marty’ Hubbard Schleigh Martha “Marty” Hubbard Schleigh entered into Heaven on Feb. 16, at home with her husband and daughter by her side.

She was born in Prince Edward County on Oct 29, 1945 and was the daughter of Frank Curtis Hubbard and Grace Payne Hubbard. The family would like to express their gratitude to Rita Pearson for the care given to Marty during Hospice Care. 

She was preceded in death by her uncle, William Henry Hubbard, who held a special place in her heart, and a brother, William Curtis Hubbard.

Surviving to cherish her memory, her loving husband Joseph “Joe” Anthony Schleigh who cared for her around the clock with love. They enjoyed RV traveling for many years. A daughter, Lea Clingenpeel Cadden of Midlothian; a son, Curtis McDowell Clingenpeel and a daughter-in-law, Gail Starling Clingenpeel of Mechanicville; a step son, William Keith Schleigh of South Boston; a brother, Frank Alan Hubbard, and Holly Hubbard of Medford, and five granddaughters, Kerry, Brianna, Audrey, Kristen and Jamie Lee.

Funeral services were held at Farmville United Methodist church at 2 p.m., on Tuesday, Feb. 25. Visitation was from 12 – 2 p.m. at the church on Tuesday. Interment followed in Westview Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Red Cross.
