Cumberland, Virginia. It is a complex issue for me to grasp the inactivity of the county. I know we lack a major high density highway, thus limiting the vehicles and people driving thru the county. We lack jobs, manufacturing and or assembly type companies, especially, that are clean environmentally but will help people and the county.
While I am all for peace and quiet, and don’t want a bunch of red lights and such, we need more resource generators to lower the very high real estate tax that Cumberland now has. Yes, in many places taxes are higher, and so is the income of the residents who have jobs. Simply put, keep the county clean, friendly, safe, but do much more to search out for small to medium sized manufacturing, printing, assembly and similar individuals and corporations, Not waste dumps or prisons, that could benefit by locating in Cumberland County, Virginia.
