Some more information has been released in the case of the Spencer Road shooting from this past Wednesday. The Buckingham County Sheriff’s Office has announced they’re searching for Dillwyn resident Marvin D. Williams, in connection with the case.

Williams currently faces multiple charges, linked with the incident. He stands accused of first degree attempted murder, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, maliciously shooting into an occupied building and possession of a firearm by a non-violent felon. After the warrants were taken out, Buckingham Sheriff Billy Kidd asked residents not to try and approach Williams if they see him. Instead, just call the sheriff’s office.

“If you have any information on the incident or Williams’s whereabouts, please contact our non-emergency line. Do not approach, individual is considered armed and dangerous,” Kidd wrote in a statement to media and on the sheriff’s office Facebook page.

State police have also been called in to assist with the Spencer Road shooting, as Kidd and his department work to put together what happened on Wednesday. Deputies were called out after reports came in of a shooting at a local home. However, when deputies arrived, there was no victim. Instead, witnesses described two potential suspects that had fled the scene, one of which appeared to be suffering from a gunshot wound. Williams has since been identified as one of those two men. To date, the only other description of the second individual is that he was a black man wearing gray clothes. Kidd said he didn’t believe the public was in immediate danger.

“There have been no reported deaths at this time and no concern for the public,” Kidd said. “Our office is continuing to follow leads and any information would be greatly appreciated. We would like to thank the Virginia State Police for their assistance during this matter.”
