Sheriff’s deputies still have plenty of questions as to what happened at a Spencer Road home on Wednesday afternoon. To help get some answers, Sheriff Billy Kidd has asked the Virginia State Police to come in and work with them on the investigation.

Deputies were called out after reports came in of a shooting at a local home. However, when deputies arrived, there was no victim. Instead, witnesses described two potential suspects that had fled the scene, one of which appeared to be suffering from a gunshot wound. There wasn’t a detailed description given of the suspects. According to the sheriff’s office, they were identified as two black men, one wearing gray clothing and the other a white jacket. It’s believed the two men could still be together.

“There have been no reported deaths at this time and no concern for the public,” Kidd said in a statement released to media and on the department’s Facebook page. “Our office is continuing to follow leads and any information would be greatly appreciated. We would like to thank the Virginia State Police for their assistance during this matter.”

Kidd said the Spencer Road case was still an active investigation and asked anyone with information to contact his office. He promised to provide updates as the investigation continues.
