The Hampden-Sydney Tigers will have at least one new face on the coaching staff when they take the court this season. Head Basketball Coach Caleb Kimbrough announced this week that he’s adding Trevor Loscombe as an assistant coach. Loscombe previously served as a graduate assistant/assistant video coordinator at the University of Central Florida (UCF) from 2022-24.
“We are excited to add Trevor to the staff this year,” said Kimbrough. “Trevor brings a selfless work ethic that is all about helping the team and helping the young men in our program. Having worked under two great coaches at both Liberty and UCF, Trevor will bring a new perspective and new ideas that will certainly make Tiger basketball better.”
At UCF, Trevor created all video and paper scouts, filmed and coded all practices, coded home games, assisted in creating recruiting profiles and recruiting visit schedules, assisted in team travel as well as set-up and participation in practice drills. The Knights posted consecutive winning seasons in NCAA Division I with an overall record of 36-31 during his time in Orlando, including two postseason appearances in the National Invitation Tournament.

Loscombe also served as the head manager at Division I Liberty University as an undergraduate from 2018-22. During this time, he constructed and communicated daily schedules and responsibilities to the manager team, assisted in organization, management, and maintenance of team gear, repaired and arranged team equipment for travel, interviewed and trained new managers, and managed film equipment. Loscombe was a camp assistant over the four years, as well. The Flames enjoyed four-straight winning seasons and posted an overall record of 104-28 with three Atlantic Sun Conference Championships and NCAA Tournament appearances, including the program’s first NCAA Tournament win in 2019.
A native of Syracuse, New York, Trevor is a 2022 graduate of Liberty with a Bachelor of Science degree in sport management. He is pursuing his Master of Science degree in Hospitality and Tourism Management from UCF.
