Since July 21, Americans have experienced joy and hope for a brighter future. There is a ubiquitous spirit of peace growing in the hearts and souls of our countrymen. We are living in a time in which honesty and truth are challenging falsehood in our national discourse. Our nation is awakening and speaking truth to power.
During this period, we have observed segments of our American citizenry, cross political party lines, and speak out in support of the efforts to secure our freedoms and strengthen our Democracy. I believe that the events we are observing are prophetic. Not in terms of political party alignments, or individual charisma, but because the paradigm shift that we are witnessing will probably continue for years to come.
When viewed from a divine perspective, the changes that we are witnessing are orchestrated by the hand of the Almighty. He has said, “And cover not Truth with falsehood, nor conceal the Truth when you know it:” (Qur’an 2:42).
Since 2016 there has been a plethora of false and misleading statements perpetuated by a separatist segment of our population. Numbering more than thirty-thousand, these false and misleading statements have resulted in a rise in hate crimes throughout the United States. These events were predicted in Scripture. In Acts 20:30 we find, “Also of your own selves shall men arise, speaking perverse things, to draw away disciples after them.”
The rise in violent crimes against various racial, ethnic, and religious groups has spawned a national response, a movement for positive change. Our political landscape is evolving. The desire for honesty and justice in our national leaders has transcended traditional party concerns. As the momentum increases, we are reminded of the scriptural verse that says, “Let there arise out of you a band of people inviting to all that is good, enjoining what is right, and forbidding what is wrong: They are the ones to attain happiness. (Qur’an 3:104).
If this movement towards honesty, justice and cooperation beyond traditional socioeconomic boundaries continues, what could America look like? It could be a nation in which diversity, equity and inclusion become the norm. Rich and powerful individuals would no longer manipulate the body politic for materialism and personal gain. It could be a nation in which a divine spirit of tolerance and cooperation would overpower social partitioning seeping into our national character. The Almighty’s hand is guiding us.
