Mervin Edward Booker, 63 of Odenton, Maryland, passed away Sept. 19. Funeral service was held on Saturday, Sept. 28, 11 a.m., at St. James AME Church, Amelia. Bland-Reid Funeral Home of Farmville served the family.

Doris Flowers Higgins, 80 of Dillwyn, passed away Sept. 19. Funeral service was held on Saturday, Sept. 28, 3:30 p.m., at Crystal Cathedral, Dillwyn. Reid’s Funeral Home of Dillwyn served the family.

Olvin Veazey, 83 of Bridgeport, Connecticut, passed away Sept. 22. Funeral service was held on Monday, Sept. 30, 1 p.m., at Spreading Oak Baptist, Arvonia. Interment was in the church cemetery. Reid’s Funeral Home of Dillwyn served the family.
