Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

The Judith Randolph-Longwood Chapter of Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) is one of the groups that will be featured in the 2024 Salute to Service Veteran’s Day Extravaganza. The project will be held on Nov. 9 in Farmville. The DAR Service to Veterans Committee is all about giving to those who helped our nation. Committee members say their group provides a tangible way for DAR members to say “thank you” by acknowledging and recognizing our veterans’ sacrifices and commitment to our nation’s freedom. Also coming up, the Wreaths Across America committee will honor veterans buried at Trinity Memorial Gardens on Dec. 14, at noon. Community members will place a wreath on the graves of over 500 veterans buried there. The public is invited to participate in this ceremony. DAR is an organization of women descendants of soldiers and other significant Patriots from the American Revolution. The group meets on the second Saturday of each month.
