The G.A.M.E. is back for year 14 when Longwood field hockey hosts Davidson on Friday, Sept. 6 at 6 p.m.
The annual event, which is one of Longwood’s strongest and best traditions, features the yearly scarf handout along with a thriving, vibrant crowd for a Longwood fall sporting event.
In addition to the annual scarf handout to Longwood students, the G.A.M.E. XIV will feature a variety of fun and food options for attendees.
One of the highlights will be a dunk tank, and there will be plenty of big names waiting to be dropped into the water. Participants include men’s basketball head coach Griff Aldrich, head baseball coach Ray Noe, communications professor Jeff Halliday, and more. The cost will be $1 per ball, with the proceeds going to the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC), an organization of student-athletes that gives them a voice at the local, conference and national level in collegiate athletics.
There will be a Press Club food truck (which can take credit cards) as well as an ice cream truck (cash or CashApp only).
Wrist band distribution for the scarves will run from 12-3 p.m. on Brock Commons for freshman and at 3:15 for upperclassmen. Yard games and a spirit table will be available from 3 to 4 p.m., with the doors opening for the pep rally at 4 p.m.
Following the pep rally, students will walk to the Longwood Athletics Complex on Johnston Drive. The march begins at 5, and the scarves will be handed out at the facility as the Lancer field hockey team prepares to take on Davidson.
