Art reception set for Friday at Riverside

Central Virginia Arts will have an art reception at the Riverside Café on Friday, Sept. 6. That’ll run from 6 to 8 p.m. at 522 N. Main Street n Farmville. 

The new exhibition features the work of Ursula Burgess, Marianne Dennison and Deborah McClintock. The event, offered without charge, includes hors d’oeuvres and beverages. 

Ursula Burgess is an artist who moved from Europe to Virginia almost 30 years ago. As a native of Germany, the history and presence of European art all around her influenced Ursula profoundly. She loves to travel and records her trips by drawing and painting as well as with photography that she later turns into an art series. She paints and teaches workshops in watercolors, acrylics, collages and mixed media applications.

Burgess is a Signature Member of the Virginia Watercolor Society and the VWS Area Representative for South Central Virginia. She is also a past president and active member of Central Virginia Arts. Her biggest satisfaction is to pass on her knowledge and enthusiasm in her own community. Her next Watercolor Workshop. “Painterly Watercolor” will be held at LCVA on November 4-7.
