Sue Huddleston MaxeySue Huddleston Maxey, 78 of Dillwyn, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Aug. 12. She was born Dec. 1, 1945 in Buckingham County, a daughter of the late John Morton Huddleston Sr. and Ola Mae Trent Huddleston. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Maxey Jr. 

She retired from Courtland Manufacturing in Appomattox.

Sue loved her Lord, her church and her family. You would not often find her idle, always looking for something to do or decorate. To know Sue was to love her and be loved by her. She will be deeply missed by all those she touched.

Sue is survived by two sons, John Thomas Maxey and Richard Lee Maxey; sister, Mary H. “Cat” Butler; brother, Joe G. Huddleston and three grandchildren, Hunter Lee and wife, Rebecca Marie, Jordan Allan and Taylor Lynn Maxey, and her nieces and nephews. Sue was excited and looking forward to the birth of her great-granddaughter, Vivian Marie, in November.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Deloras “Betty” Puett and Zanie H. Jamerson and two brothers, Milton Huddleston and Morton Huddleston Jr.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Aug. 17, at noon at the Dunkum Funeral Home, Dillwyn, with interment in the Salem Church Cemetery. Family will receive friends on Friday night, Aug. 16, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
