I would like to take this opportunity to praise the Farmville/Prince Edward community for all of the support they gave to the PEFYA All Stars, DYB Baseball Majors and Dixie Softball Debs Virginia State Championship teams. 

The DYB Majors were sponsored by Edgar Jones – State Farm Agent and the Dixie Debs were sponsored by Haley Auto Mall. After the teams won the state tournament, they had less than two weeks to raise additional funds to be able to travel to the World Series in Louisiana.

Due to the generosity of individuals and businesses who donated (including the Town of Farmville and Prince Edward County), both teams were able to have funds for new uniforms and cover lodging for players/family in Louisiana.

The many people and businesses who donated are too numerous to list here, but we are so blessed by the generosity of this community. 

We also lift up the County Grille, Merk’s Place, La Parota, and the Fishin’ Pig for hosting spirit nights for these teams. Also, we appreciate Buffalo Wild Wings for feeding the teams before they left.

We are appreciative of the support we received for these World Series teams, and for the support for all PEFYA sports programs year round. The success of our programs depends on the generosity of our sponsors. The memories made and the lessons learned on the fields and courts will last a lifetime.
