Gardeners often say, “Right Plant, Right Place,” meaning that a plant thrives best in a location suited to its specific needs. Just as a cactus wouldn’t flourish in a bog, certain projects are best suited to specific locations. This principle applies to the Israel Hill project as well.

In response to Paul Xavier’s letter, “Let’s Offer a Solution for Once,” we believe that name-calling and labeling only weaken your argument and reveal personal biases. While we respect your right to your perspective, we prefer to engage in constructive and respectful dialogue.

One productive suggestion in the article is relocating the proposed project. We agree that moving it to a site that is appropriately zoned, which Layne Street is not, would be beneficial. A more suitable location would not only align with zoning regulations but also be closer to future employment centers, transportation, food markets, and other essential services.

For those who question our right to voice concerns, we invite you to propose alternative locations within your own community or neighborhood that might better support the project’s success. We are ready to support and collaborate on these efforts. Contact STEPS today to nominate your community for consideration.
