Leonard Sherman DoveLeonard Sherman Dove, lately of Rice, passed away Sunday, June 9, at home with his wife, Sara Dove. Leonard is also survived by his son, Andres Arce; daughter-in-law, Jenn Arce, and grandson, Roman Arce.

A native of Northern Virginia and a graduate of Falls Church High School, Leonard took over the family roofing business and later worked as a rural postal carrier in Clifton before retiring in 2002. Leonard excelled at these vocations because of his genuine interest in the world and people around him, his thoughtful nature, unfailing manners, and high personal and professional ethics. These same traits allowed Leonard to form lasting, meaningful relationships wherever he went.

He will be remembered and cherished for his quiet devotion to and love of his family, friends and community. As a family member said, “he will always be in our hearts.”
