Estaline Anderson McCraw, of Appomattox, died on June 16, at the age of 96. She was the wife of the late Emmett Lawrence McCraw.

She was preceded by her parents, Herman and Estelle Vaughn Anderson of Andersonville; her sister, Claudia Chisholm of Mineral; her brother, Shield Anderson of Andersonville; and her son, David Walton McCraw.

Surviving are two daughters, Mary Louise M. Scott and her husband, Robert Scott of Farmville, and Ann M. Smith and her husband, Jim Smith of Bedford; four grandchildren, Taylor Scott and Mary Ellen Scott, Rachel S. LaPlante and Evan Smith; five great grandsons, Emmett, Lex, and Samuel Scott, Carson and Peyton LaPlante; and two great granddaughters, Abigail Smith and Wren Scott.

Mrs. McCraw received her B.S. and M.S. Degrees from Longwood University. She spent her entire career teaching in the Appomattox County Schools.

She was an active member of Memorial Methodist Church in Appomattox, the Appomattox County Retired Teachers Association and the Appomattox Garden Club.

Memorial services will be held at Memorial Methodist Church, 403 Court Street, Appomattox at 11 a.m., July 20, with Rev. Rick Caldwell officiating. Burial will follow in Liberty Cemetery, at 1260 Lee-Grant Avenue in Appomattox.
