Earlier this month, Sixty West Jets Track Club members competed at the 4th Annual Virginia Legends Age Group Invitational. It was held at Highland Springs High School on Saturday, May 11. The newly organized age group from 5 years old to masters division was represented by Cumberland Middle School 6th grader De’Andre Williams, who was competing in the turbo javelin and 50 meter dash. Also representing Cumberland was 7th grader Maryanna Boat in the long jump and 200 meters, both competed nicely. Cumberland 7th grader Jo’el Skinner dominated his 13-14 age group division with wins in the high jump, long jump, and 200 meter hurdles, earning three gold meadows. Jo’el is pictured here with his uncle Mr. Antonio Richardson, a former Cumberland and Widener University track standout. Over 33 AAU teams from all over the state were competing.
