Lorene Foster Kay, 94 of Farmville, died Monday, May 13. She was the wife of the late Carroll Bruce Kay.
Born in Lynchburg, Dec. 26, 1929, she was a daughter of the late Hallie Tuggle Foster and William Thomas Foster. Lorene was a member of Ash Camp Baptist Church. She was past president of the Keysville Woman’s Club and Keysville Garden Club. She was also a member of the Emily Nelson (Daughters of the Revolution) in the District of Columbia, Colonial Dames XVII and the Red Hill Society.
She is survived by two children, Lynwood Ray Baldwin (Gloria) of Dillwyn and Jeanne Hunter Baldwin of Appomattox; step-daughter, Cheryl Marie Kay of Farmville; one sister, Kathleen F. Schwier of Oakton; daughter-in-law, Kimberly Baldwin; six grandchildren, Virginia Baldwin Eacho (David) Blake Benjamin Beckham, Rachael Baldwin Clark (Russ) Amy Elizabeth Baldwin (Reed Hines) Taylor Holstein (Brian) and Sarah Hunter Carrington and nine great-grandchildren, Amelia, Sawyer, Ransom, Emma Grace, Vivian, Russell, Hayley, Zoe and Maggie.
She was preceded in death by one son, Daniel Lee Baldwin.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, May 16, at Ash Camp Baptist Church with Pastor Ted Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Ash Camp Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Ash Camp Baptist Church.
