The Farmville Police Department honored both The Fishin’ Pig and Third Street Wrecker at its annual awards banquet.
Both businesses received the Farmville Police Department’s Citizen Appreciation Award, which is awarded by the Chief of Police or his designee to a citizen of the community for demonstrable measurable and verifiable acts or deeds of significant service in support of the department’s mission or service to the community. This award is for non-members of the department.
“Both Third Street Wrecker and The Fishin’ Pig have supported our department in numerous ways throughout the years,” said Farmville Police Chief Andy Ellington. “Their commitment not only to our department, but to the community, should not go unnoticed. Third Street Wrecker consistently has a rapid response to our accident scenes when we need to get roads open and keep traffic moving. While seemingly a small thing, it takes many small things to make big differences and their prompt and efficient response allows us more time to keep our community and roads safe. We are extremely grateful for their service and cannot thank them enough for what they do.”
Ellington was equally appreciative of the support from The Fishin’ Pig.
“The Fishin’ Pig has been a longtime supporter of our department and has assisted us with many events over the years,” Ellington said. “Whether it has been our Citizens Police Academy, banquets, or other events, The Fishin’ Pig has always been quick to act and provide support for our department. We cannot thank them enough for everything they do for our department and the Town of Farmville.”
