On Saturday, March 23, a number of groups came out to help Farmville Parks and Recreation hold its annual Easter Egg Hunt. Now the weather outside was a bit rough, so that brought the event indoors at the Farmville Sports Arena on Zion Hill Road. 

 

The hunt included more than searching for eggs. There were interactive activities for children and kids, both young and old, could get their picture taken with the Easter Bunny. Raffle prizes were given away and then, of course, the indoor Easter Egg hunt started. 

Moton Museum helped sponsor this year’s event, with volunteer help from the Town of Farmville Teen Counselors. The Teen Counselors will also help in conducting this year’s Summer Day Camp.

As for other groups and vendors who helped with the event, they include the Virginia Department of Health, Wendy’s, Longwood Center for the Visual Arts, Coach Scott of Ice Cream Delight, the Department of Wildlife Resources and the Farmville Fire Department. Special raffle prizes were donated by STEPS, Wendy’s, and Prince Edward Public Schools, with a free book giveaway, made possible by the Virginia Children’s Book Festival. Photography services with the Easter Bunny were provided by Jade Owl Creative.
