Members of the Friends of the Appomattox River (FAR) and volunteers removed over 200 pounds of trash out of Sandy River Reservoir, the Lee Woodruff Blueway, Briery Creek Reservoir, Gross Creek and many other waterways around Farmville on Saturday, April 6th. This spring cleanup is just part of what FAR does to help the river and our waterways be attractive, healthy, and fun places for everyone.. Pictured, from left, are Tom Detrick, Bobby Hurt, Marianne Dennis, Tom Dennison, Damien Fehrer, Steve Barber, Jill Hames, Lee Woodruff, Warren Rofe, Silas Bego, Tom Crouse, Danny Cooper, Silas Woodall and Eliza Woodall. Not pictured are Suzanne Crouse, Al and Betsy Lookofsky and Berkeley Leonard. We extend our thanks to all the volunteers who work to clean up our area waterways. The FAR fall cleanup will be announced here in the newspaper and on Facebook. (Send “Way to Go!” photos with a description and names to WayToGo@FarmvilleHerald.com).
