Cumberland Elementary has plenty to be especially proud of this week. On Tuesday Emily Overstreet was named Regional Teacher of the Year. In addition a team of smiling young student ambassadors Sariya Robert, Sadie Fletcher, Ja’ona Johnson and Chase Dunivan greeted each guest as they arrived for the announcement by introducing themselves and giving a warm welcoming handshake. Vice Principal Wendy Tillett, along with the students, took a moment for us to capture this photo. It was impressive to watch a roomful of second graders sit quietly and patiently while they waited for the announcement to begin. We congratulate Emily Overstreet on her well deserved honor and commend Cumberland Elementary leadership and teachers for the excellent job they are doing preparing students to be great students and well mannered citizens.
