Portions of two roads in Prince Edward County will be closed today, in order for the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) to do some maintenance.
The first is Route 629 or Weaver Road. It’ll be shut down from the intersection with Route 696 (Green Bay Road) to the intersection with Route 613 (Indian Springs Road). This is to replace a pipe. VDOT officials said they would set up a detour this morning, with signs directing people where to go.
The second of the two roads closing involves Route 630 aka Free State Road. It will be closed both today and Tuesday at the railroad crossing, for routine maintenance work.
