Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated ®, the Kappa Rho Omega chapter, collected approximately 100 winter coats, jackets and winter accessories for adults and children with the assistance of the supportive communities of Southside Virginia. 

Chapter members also worked in collaboration with Cumberland Middle School and Cumberland High School in the collection of items for the event. This activity is one of several community service projects of the sorority. 

This year, the items were donated to Piedmont Senior Resources, Prince Edward County Elementary and Middle Schools, Dillwyn Elementary School and the Union Outreach Fellowship Church in Farmville.
