Visitors to the Curdsville Community Center will hear from Michael Snyder about his Olde Dogg Manor operation in April. The operation is an organic commercial market vegetable producer, one that delivers their material to Wegman’s, Whole Foods and Harris Teeter. In addition to their deliveries, the group wants to look at ways of focusing more on the local community by making things available for sale directly from their farm, located off Route 15 between Farmville and Dillwyn.
This season, the group will be growing tomatoes, beets, carrots, onions, turnips, radishes, squash, pumpkins, cucumbers, beans, herbs and peppers. The Community Center officials hope to partner with Olde Dogg for a Farm-to-Table project in the near future.
The meeting will be held Monday, April 1, beginning at 6 p.m. with a potluck dinner.
