Double feature nights provide double the racing excitement for fans and South Boston Speedway has seven double feature nights scheduled for its Sentara Health Late Model Stock Car Division competitors during the 2024 season.

South Boston Speedway’s double feature nights for the Sentara Health Late Model Stock Car Division are set for April 13, May 4, May 11, June 8, July 13, August 3 and August 17. Four of the double feature nights will have double 75-lap races and three will feature double 65-lap races.

“As we get ready for another incredible season of racing at South Boston Speedway, we’re announcing another layer to our 2024 schedule,” said South Boston Speedway General Manager Brandon Brown. “As a race fan, there’s something I’ve always loved about Double Feature nights, and we’ll have plenty of them this season. Our Sentara Health Late Model Stock Car drivers and teams will have 18 total chances to take checkered flags and trophies home this year, and each of our four divisions will have at least one chance to shine twice under the lights.”

All four of South Boston Speedway’s NASCAR-sanctioned racing divisions will experience double feature nights during the season. Three double feature nights are set for the Budweiser Limited Sportsman Division competitors with double 30-lap races set for April 20, May 11, and July 13.

The Southside Disposal Pure Stock Division will have double features on two nights this season, one on May 4 and another on August 3. Double 15-lap races are scheduled for the division on those nights.

For the first time since the division was created the Hornets Division competitors will have a double feature night, with double 15-lap races scheduled for the division on June 8.

South Boston Speedway will kick off its 2024 season with the first of four special events that have been scheduled for the season. The speedway’s Saturday afternoon, March 23 season-opening event will feature the stars and the powerful 600-horsepower open-wheel cars of the SMART Modified Tour. A 100-lap race for the track’s Sentara Health Late Model Stock Car Division and a 20-lap race for the Hornets Division will also be part of the season-opening event.

More highlights of South Boston Speedway’s 2024 season include the track’s showcase pre-Fourth of July 200-lap NASCAR Late Model Stock Car Division event, the first race of the Virginia Late Model Triple Crown, on Saturday night, June 29 and a 150-lap race for the Sentara Health Late Model Stock Car Division on Championship Night on Saturday night, August 31.

Those three events along with an event for the CARS Tour Late Model Stock Car and Pro Late Model series on September 14 comprise the track’s four special events for the 2024 season.
