Zanie Huddleston Jamerson, 80 of Dillwyn, passed peacefully on Dec. 6. She was born June 20, 1943, a daughter of the late John Morton Sr. and Ola Trent Huddleston.
She retired as Assistant Branch Manager at First Virginia Bank. She was an active member of Salem Church and many other community organizations.
Zanie is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, Jerry L. Jamerson Sr.; sisters, Mary H. “Cat” Butler and Sue H. Maxey; brother, Joe G. Huddleston and his wife, Lorene; Debbie Melton, Lee Puett Jr. and J.T. Maxey and their families and many more nieces, nephews and extended family; sister-in-law, Joanne Jamerson; family by love, John and Lynn Sloan and numerous friends.
In addition to her parents, Zanie was also preceded in death by her son, Jerry Lee Jamerson Jr.; sister, Deloras “Betty” Puett and brothers, Milton Huddleston and Morton Huddleston Jr.; brothers-in-law, Thomas Maxey Jr. and Joe Jamerson.
Funeral service will be held on Saturday, Dec. 9, at 2 p.m. at the Dunkum Funeral Home with interment in the Salem Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday, Dec. 8, from 6 until 8 p.m. at the Dunkum Funeral Home.
