In the week before Christmas, every child has something they want to talk to Santa about. They want to see if he got their list and make sure he understands everything on it. The Moton Museum gave residents around the region a chance to do just that on Saturday, Dec. 16, as they hosted the annual “Hanging with Santa” event. And just like in times past, plenty of community members came pouring in over those few hours.
“Hanging with Santa went extremely well,” said Moton Museum Director Cainan Townsend. “We ended up with about 75 people or so. It was great to see all the families out enjoying the photos, treats and toys. It was definitely our best one yet!”
Now when he says treats and toys, Cainan is referring to the activities Moton staffers helped with. In addition to free pictures (and conversation) with Santa, children had the chance to get a special activity bag, filled with surprises they could play with once they got home. Everyone also had snacks and while the children were playing (and talking with Santa), the adults had a chance to fellowship with each other.
