Hampden-Sydney College slip in latest national poll

Hampden-Sydney College is ranked seventh nationally in the latest D3hoops.com Top 25, earning 470 points in this week’s poll. The Tigers dropped from last week’s No. 2 ranking, and are now 5-1 overall, including 1-1 in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC). H-SC dropped its first game of the season last weekend, an 80-71 ODAC decision on the road at then-No. 11 Guilford (NC) College on December 2 … the Quakers are up to No. 3 in this week’s national poll.
John Carroll (OH) University (6-0) is ranked first with 598 points and 13 first-place votes, followed by Calvin (MI) University (6-0, 575[5]) at No. 2, Guilford (6-0, 535[6]) at No. 3, Oswego State (NY) (7-0, 514[1]) at No. 4 and Keene State (NH) College (6-1, 477) at No. 5 in the poll.
H-SC will continue early-season ODAC action on the road at four-time defending ODAC Tournament Champion and archrival Randolph-Macon College on Friday night, Dec. 8, at 7 p.m. in Ashland. The Yellow Jackets (4-2, 2-0) are the first school outside the Top 25 receiving votes in the latest D3hoops.com Top 25.
