May F. Fulcher, 92 of Farmville, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, Oct. 31, in Farmville.
She was born May 30, 1931 in Dillwyn to the late James Rosser and Mary Elizabeth Jamerson Fulcher.
May was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Coley R. Fulcher.
In addition to being a devoted wife, mother and Granny, her passions included cooking, sewing, bird watching and tending to her 30+ hosta plants and hanging baskets.
May’s career spanned many years as a seamstress for the Amelia Dress Company and Discount Fabrics of Farmville, as well as bookkeeping for her husband’s business, Coley’s Auto Service.
In addition to her husband, she was also preceded in death by her daughter, Gloria F. Rosser; brothers, James (Jim), Hoover (Joe), John and David Fulcher and sisters, Pearl Fulcher and Nancy LeSueur.
May is survived by her granddaughter, April Rosser Doyle (Brian); brother, Henry Fulcher of Lynchburg; three sisters, Elsie F. St. John of Richmond, Marie F. Garrett of Dillwyn and Betty Fulcher of Lynchburg; three great-grandchildren, Ava Doyle and twins, Conor and Cian Doyle, and a number of nieces, nephews and numerous friends.
Honoring May’s wishes, funeral services will be private.
