Hampden-Sydney College senior Alex Rubino has been named to the 2022-23 Virginia Sports Information Directors (VaSID) College Division Men’s Golf All-State Second Team. VaSID names 44 All-State teams in 23 sports each year, as well as an Academic All-State squad and an All-Sports champion in both the University and College Divisions. Membership in VaSID is open to all media relations professionals working at a college/university or conference office in the Commonwealth of Virginia.

Alex ranked 65th in NCAA Division III with a 74.50 scoring average through nine tournaments and 24 rounds during 2022-23. Rubino posted collegiate-low scores of 65 for 18 holes and 133 for 36 holes, along with a season-low of 219 for 54 holes. Alex fired a record nine-under par 68-65–133 to win The O’Briant-Jensen Memorial Tournament last October 31-November 1, 2022-played at The Cardinal by Pete Dye golf course in Greensboro, North Carolina. Overall, he earned one Top Five and two Top 10 among four Top 25 individual finishes with six rounds of par or better. Alex was previously named First Team All-Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC).
