Prince Edward County added a member to its tourism staff this month. Molly Kinahan fills a marketing assistant spot, as Director of Economic Development and Tourism Chelsey White says the hiring was effective May 2.
“I am excited to welcome Molly to the team here at the Visitors Center. She brings with her the skills and experience needed to propel the County’s Economic Development and Tourism Departments forward,” White said. “We look forward to working with Molly to promote tourism in Prince Edward County.”
Kinahan was born and raised in Midlothian, graduating from Radford University with a B.S. in Communication, concentrating on Public Relations. Upon graduation, she moved to northern Virginia for a job in customer service, where she discovered the 24/7 traffic was not for her. She returned to the Richmond area to work in the veterinary medicine industry for small and large animals. In September 2021, she fell in love with the Farmville community, moved into the Avenues neighborhood and accepted a job as the Executive Coordinator with the Farmville Area Chamber of Commerce.
In a statement, she said thanks to her work at the Chamber, Kinahan met so many extraordinary entrepreneurs, community members, and leaders that she was inspired to apply when the marketing position became available.
Kinahan can be reached through the Economic Development and Tourism office, located at 121 East Third Street, Farmville or at (434)392-1482.
