Lambert honored as Golfer of the week

Hampden-Sydney College freshman Pierce Lambert (Hartfield) has been named the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Golfer of the Week for the period October 19-25.
Lambert led the Tigers’ B Team with his 36-hole score of 76-74–150 at the H-SC Fall Invitational at The Manor on Oct. 22-23 at The Manor Golf Club in Farmville. He finished in a tie for fourth individually among the 31 collegiate golfers, helping the team to a two-day score of 305-301–606 to finish first among five teams. It was a collegiate-best for 36 holes on the par 72, 6,643-yard layout, and included five birdies and 21 pars over the two rounds, as Lambert tied for third in par 4 scoring (4.20, +4) and tied for fifth in par 5 scoring (4.75, -2). Pierce has averaged 76.8 over nine rounds, including a low round of 68, with two Top 10 finishes among three Top 20 efforts in four events.
H-SC will compete again at the O’Briant-Jensen Memorial Tournament on October 31-November 1, a 36-hole tournament to be played at The Cardinal by Pete Dye in Greensboro, North Carolina.
